My children are young. Too young for swear words but inevitably they’ll hear a naughty word and no matter how mild it is they yearn to repeat it. Their favorite naughty words right now are sexy, butt and stupid. Pretty tame but string them all together and you’ve got a nasty combo, “you stupid sexy butt!”
To combat their affinity for foul language I let a cuss word slip on purpose. I intended for them to hear it and repeat it. The swear word I chose is nonsense and made up….. “RAZBOLO!”
Shhh. Don’t tell them. I acted like I had messed up terribly by saying it and scolded them for repeating such filth. Now they’ve almost completely stopped using real words that are on the naughty list thinking they’ve attained curse word nirvana with “Razbolo”.
